The Kingdom of Thailand (2008)

I love the Kingdom of Thailand. The Thai people are so warm, friendly, and very polite.  And of course, the Thai cuisine is out of this world...

The Royal Grand Palace is the official residence of the King of Thailand since the late 18th Century. The palace is located in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. Construction began in 1782 during the reign of King Rama I.

I was fascinated with the awesome gargoyles guarding the main entrances and exits of most major buildings within the Grand Palace complex. These golden or rock sculptures looked really menacing.

Bang Pa-In Summer Palace in Ayutthaya province about 40 miles north of Bangkok. This is the summer get-away destination for the Kings of Siam (Thailand). The Royal Palace at Bang Pa-In has a history that dates back to the 17th Century.
